Speaking and Education

I speak to parents about infant and child sleep through a sociology, psychology and sleep science lens. I translate the research into practical guidance that makes sense in the context of real families and real life.

My sessions go beyond rigid schedules and one-size-fits-all advice to explore not only how babies and young children sleep, but the biology, behaviour, relationships and family dynamics that shape sleep.

The goal is for parents to leave feeling informed, reassured and confident about what to expect, and what they can actually do.

Northern Beaches Hospital - Antenatal Education

I present infant sleep education within the Northern Beaches Hospital antenatal programme, helping expectant parents understand what newborn sleep genuinely looks like before their baby arrives.

We explore normal newborn sleep biology, realistic expectations for the early weeks, safe and responsive sleep foundations, and practical ways parents can begin supporting healthy sleep without expecting their newborn to do something they simply aren't developmentally ready to do.

Parents leave with an understanding of baby sleep, rather than a checklist of rules they're expected to follow.

Mothers Groups & Parenting Communities

My mothers group sessions are for the conversations parents are already having amongst themselves, with evidence and professional guidance.

We unpack common sleep myths, what's developmentally normal, feeding and sleep, naps, night waking and responsive approaches to settling, without relying on rigid routines or traditional cry-it-out methods.

These sessions are more of a Q&A than a lecture, as every baby, parent and family is different. The aim isn't to tell parents there is one correct way to approach sleep, it's to provide a safe and non-judgemental space to discuss what's happening, help them understand why, what their options are, and make decisions they feel confident in.

Invite Jen to Speak

I speak at antenatal programmes, mothers groups and parenting communities on infant and young child sleep, family wellbeing and the social realities of modern parenting.

If you're looking for an evidence-informed speaker who can make the research accessible, practical and genuinely relevant to the families, I'd love to hear from you.
